Unleashing the Power of Women to End Hunger

A Shropshire based strategic HR consultancy has confirmed their involvement for the third year in a ground-breaking initiative.

Jungle HR has pledged to help women end hunger in their communities through the Unleashed Women Leaders Initiative by global charity The Hunger Project.

By pioneering sustainable, grassroots women-centred strategies the Hunger Project aims to tackle the complex issue of world hunger as studies show that when women are supported and empowered all of society benefits.

Teresa Boughey, CEO and founder of Jungle HR was the first Brand Ambassador for The Hunger Project’s Unleashed Women programme in 2016 and has continued to support the project ever since.

She said: “I am passionate about supporting other women across the world through education and empowerment and I was inspired by the work of The Hunger Project’s Unleashed Women programme because it was more than just financial giving it was about education and enabling women to create and shape their own sustainable future.  This programme, therefore, aligns with my personal values and those of my company which is ‘delivering change through people’.”

Unleashing the Power of Women Sophie Noonan, The Hunger Project UK Country Director said: “We are delighted by Teresa’s support of The Hunger Project. She truly embodies the Unleashed Woman spirit: a successful businesswoman stepping up and into her leadership, promoting diversity and gender equality in the workplace and in the boardroom.

“Teresa is dedicated to supporting and empowering women all over the world to also do just that, and become agents of change.”

Through the support of UK women, the project aims to reach 80,000 women in communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America, giving women and children access to quality health care and nutrition, encouraging girls to stay in school so they can reach their full potential and giving women microloans and training so they can start a business and be financially independent.
