Picture by Sam BagnallInternational Women’s Day saw the launch of an exciting new Women in Leadership programme (Jungle’s Empowering Women to Excel in Leadership) which is aimed at getting more women into senior, decision-making roles.

Women in Leadership is currently a hot topic for businesses as recent research clearly shows that companies with more gender-diverse management teams are outperforming those with a more traditional male, pale format.

Much has been written about the reasons for women still making up such a small percentage of senior positions and this recent article from HR Magazine highlights the need for a radical change of heart from CEOs. There is a culture shift happening in the most successful and forward-thinking organisations but this is something that needs business leader’s serious attention.

Teresa Boughey, author of JEWEL  a transformative Women’s Leadership Development Programme and organiser of the International Women’s Day Conference, launched the programme saying, that she has designed JEWEL to “break through barriers that have historically impeded women’s career development” and to “Empower those who participate to become respected and highly effective leaders”.
